About the Lab
The Challenge Lab is a facilitated two-day event during which practitioners and experts from a mix of sectors will explore urgent public health issues associated with, for example, mental health, wellbeing, ageing, and environment, and cross cutting data, systems and risk challenges. During this two day event small interdisciplinary teams bringing together University of Essex academics from across the disciplines and sector professionals will discuss and delve into the challenges and co-develop projects to explore potential solutions. At the end of the event teams will pitch their project to secure funding to test their propositions in practice. Up to £10,000 will be available for each project. This Challenge Lab approach has been used to successfully fund a breadth of small scale and proof of concept projects addressing other challenges in different sectors, with projects from basic science to testing innovative solutions and generating of social sciences impact accessing a range of funding sources.
The event forms part of the activities for the Univesity of Essex's Impact Acceleration Account 2, funded by the ESRC. If you have any questions please contact iaa@essex.ac.uk
