Mathews Jacob is an associate professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Iowa. The main focus of his research is on adaptive signal representations and machine learning algorithms for image recovery in MRI from highly undersampled measurements. He is currently interested in applying these methods to large data problems with incomplete measurements.
He was a Beckman postdoctoral fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He is the recipient of the CAREER award from the National Science Foundation and the Research Scholar Award from American Cancer Society. He is an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging.
The research at his group is funded by the National Science Foundation, National Institute of Health, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, and Office of Naval Research.
