  Jeff Sharp is Director and Professor in the School of Environment and Natural Resources. His Ph.D. is in Sociology with expertise in rural sociology, community sociology and the sociology of agriculture and food systems. His research, teaching and outreach activities focus on community change and development, often focusing on the community processes and organization in relation to agricultural and food system change. Recent work has begun to look at rural community adaptive capacity in relation to climate change or other natural resource related challenges.
