• What would you like us to know about you?

  A research scientist at the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR), based at Tanga Centre in Tanga, Tanzania since 2003. I have been working on genetics/genomics epidemiology of malaria, antimalarial drug resistance and the National health laboratory system; to strengthen the diagnostic capacity for common infections and other diseases in low income communities. I am a member of the genomic epidemiology network of malaria (MalariaGEN) since June 2006 and a co- founder of the African Plasmodium Diversity Network (PDNA). Currently, I am building a team of experts in genetic/genomic epidemiology, genomics and informatics covering malaria parasites, human hosts, vectors and other pathogens.
