  Manuelito Biag serves as a Senior Research Associate at the John W. Gardner Center for Youth and Their Communities at Stanford University's Graduate School of Education. Broadly, he investigates the implementation and influence of school policies and programs on students’ learning and development, particularly those from minority and disadvantaged backgrounds. At the Gardner Center, Dr. Biag has led studies on higher education, school climate, and dropout prevention, among other topics. He is particularly interested in research-practice partnerships; the links between students’ health and academic outcomes; and using design-thinking to reform education. Dr. Biag’s research has been published in a variety of academic journals including Urban Education and Teachers’ College Record. He earned his doctorate in education policy from the University of California, Davis.
