    Anthony Dvarskas is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Economics at Stony Brook University. He researches economic valuation of coastal and marine ecosystem goods and services, particularly within the context of environmental restoration and climate change and adaptation. Projects include application of the SEEA-EEA to the marine and coastal context, evaluation of housing prices and their relation to water quality, assessment of the economic vulnerability of Nassau and Suffolk County to storm events, and integration of ecosystem services values into coastal infrastructure planning decisions. Prior to joining Stony Brook, Anthony worked as a statistician at the United Nations Statistics Division, System of Environmental-Economic Accounting from 2013 to 2014. In this position, he worked on the coordination of activities related to development of the Experimental Ecosystem Accounting framework. From 2008 to 2013, he worked as an economist for the Damage Assessment, Restoration, and Remediation Program at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. In that position, he was responsible for evaluating public losses to recreational and non-use values resulting from oil spills and hazardous material releases at Superfund sites.
