• What would you like us to know about you?

  My research activities in oceans, climate, and scientific computing lie in the intersection of high-dimensional stochastic and deterministic dynamics. My geoscience group focuses on multi-scale transport, with an emphasis on ocean problems. My uncertainty quantification group focuses on developing data assimilation methods. Presently, working on hurricane disaster resilience, oil spill models, submarine landslides/tsunamis, and dynamic data estimation strategies. I am a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics at Oregon State University, with courtesy appointments in the Physics of Oceans and Atmospheres, as well as in the Department of Statistics. I am the winner of the SIAM Geoscience Career Award, 2017, I am a Fellow of SIAM, class of 2018. I was a DOE post-doc, and a DOE Young Investigator awardee.
