    I am an imaging physicist and informatics scientist/engineer with a PhD in quantitative MRI and a very broad background in applications of imaging: from MR of rock cores and growing sycamore trees, through optical CT of synchrotron microbeam radiotherapy treatments to quantitative image-based measurements of temperature and diffusion coefficients, high resolution vessel tracking ... and even bioacoustic pattern recognition to distinguish the calls of different frogs and so contribute to a project in paleoecology!

    I have a longstanding interest in cancer diagnosis and therapy and my "day job" is in imaging informatics at the Institute of Cancer Research, where I manage the local Research PACS.

    I have a significant track record of building new research areas and pioneering new technology: ultra-rapid MRI in Grenoble, optical CT at the University of Surrey and both the XNAT imaging data platform and 3-D microscopy at the ICR.

    I have a wide network of collaboration both internally and externally to the ICR, with current research in the following areas:
    Imaging informatics
    Software infrastructure for image data repositories; MRI- radiotherapy data-sharing; MR image segmentation; machine learning/AI; radiomics

    Radiotherapy QA
    3-D mapping of electron return effect in MR-linac therapy; end- to-end testing in presence of motion (MR-linac); proton beam and synchrotron microbeam 3D dosimetry

    3-D microscopy
    Multispectral imaging of tumour vasculature and 3-D tumour models; correlation with MRI/ photoacoustic; 3-D histology
