What would you like us to know about you?
I am a mathematician by training and have worked in a computer science department for many years. I have been particularly interested in the design and analysis of electoral systems, which involves simulations using synthetic data that must be "realistic" yet is not real. I have also worked on network science methodology (signed networks, diffusion of opinions, citation networks formed by legal documents), and on modelling electoral swings. In general I believe in using data to inform better modelling of social/economic phenomena, and in taking a lot of care to ensure that performance measures are well thought out before we start measuring or computing anything.
